China has issued more than 13.5 billion smart IC cards as at December 2015. Statistics released by the Coordinating and Leading Group Office show that the number of China's smart card manufacturing companies with annual revenue in excess of 20 million yuan has reached 100, while China's IC card industry realised sales revenue of RMB13.3 billion in 2014, up 13.6% year on year.
